Colour: Vibrant ruby red and black olive in colour with crimson and cerise hues.
Nose: Lifted fruit aromas of stewed black and red fruits abound. This is supported by hints of black pepper, dried herbs and wood smoke. There are also wafts of vanilla bean and freshly crushed nuts.
Palate: The palate is ripe, elegant, soft, dry and long. The upfront fruit flavours are of raspberry and blood plum. The mid palate is complex and soft showing herbal flavours of cumin and dried basil. The back palate is clean and dry with persistent natural acidity.
Cellaring: Now – 4 years.
Food Matching: Barbequed scotch fillet with kipfler potatoes and green beans, Wild mushroom risotto topped with aged parmesan, Smoked cheddar cheese.
