Colour
Dark black olive in colour with vibrant cherry red, magenta hues.
Nose
Lifted, ripe and juicy. The nose shows brooding stewed black fruit aroma with hints of dark bitter chocolate and freshly turned earth. There are also wafts of black pepper.
Palate
Full bodied, rich, ripe, soft and long. The upfront fruit flavours are of overtly ripe blackcurrant and cherries. The mi palate is broad with smoked meat cha, long and characteristics, supported by nutty sweet oak. The back palate is dry, soft, long and persistent.
Cellaring
5 – 8 years.
Food
Char-grilled beef rump with garlic mash and greens, mushroom and leek pie, Well aged cheddar cheese.
