Colour Dark, rich, ruby red in colour with blood red hues.
Nose Powerful and generous nose displaying wood smoke and stewed black
berries. There are also hints of cedar, coffee and wafts of eucalypt.
Palate Ripe, generous, appealing and soft. The upfront fruit flavours are of
fruits of the forest and boysenberry. This is supported by nutty,
creamy, almost smoked oak flavours. There are also hints of earth and game. The back palate is long soft and dry with a persistent natural acidity.
Cellaring Now - 7 years.
Food Vietnamese style pork belly, Roast pheasant, Cumberland sausages with
potato mash and an onion gravy, Hunter Belle Cheddarbelle.
